just now starting this game, and maaaaan is it slow :unimpressed:
imma need something to happen. anything
This is closer to RE2 than to RE4, there's a lot of tension and fukkery, but don't expect to be running and gunning like Left 4 Dead :manny:

i finally beat it. solid game. great atmosphere. best use of sound i have ever experienced. combat could use some improvement but it's good enough. it is a little padded - you could cut at least a third of this stuff and still have a good story

Just finished beating Silent Hill 2 story. I got "In Water" ending. I was wondering if this is a bad ending to get. What ending yall got?

I just wonder how could and why there are different endings?

Yea it's the bad ending out of the 3 you can get on the first playthrough. Means you died too much/James was at low health too often. I kinda like the bad ending as the "real" ending though

Awww, I see. I gonna check it out at all 2 endings on YT.

I enjoyed this game but I don't feel like I would play again, not replay value thou. I give it a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 rating.

it's kinda bad in that it means you played like a person who didnt want to live. getting hurt constantly, looking at angela's self harm knife more than necessary, focusing on things that make you feel guilty for how you treated your wife, etc. i got the "leave" ending on my first playthrough. now im going for the NG+ endings.

how there are multiple endings is because the game is partially taking place in your mind, so there is a degree of subjectivity. how the character feels impacts what happens to them in silent hill. different actions show that you "feel different" so you can get a different kind of closure at the end, hence the 3 main plot endings. then the NG+ endings involve the objective reality of silent hill which has paranormal stuff happening, like the aliens.

it ebbs and flows. toluca prison is a good mix of action, and there is an otherworldly apartment with more fighting, but it comes down in energy to focus on emotion at other points later. you have to love spooky atmosphere and emotional drama to enjoy this game. if they had made it shorter, it would be more broadly enjoyable.

It picks up towards the end of the section you're in now. It's never gonna be action horror like RE4 though the environments just get more stressful
