Never in my life did I ever think Diddy was dope. He was tolerable while BIG was alive, but anything beyond that he was always trash af. Shiny suit "era" was trash af. Bad Boy was always lame af to me.

Puff's quest for cross-over pop hits lead to the popification of hip-hop and the decline of NYC rap, and the overall loss of NYC's regional sound.

Ready to Die, LAD, Shyne, G-Dep were dope despite Puff, not b/c of him & Bad Boy

Notorious BIG MADE bad boy...

fukk Diddy

(this is in no way a diss towards NYC)

Diddy made Bad Boy. People loved Biggie so they had no choice. If it wasn't for Biggie, this dude wouldn't have been as big.
BIG a GOAT, Shyne album & G-Dep album were solid, Craig Mack had a hot remix...outside of that, Bad Boy was always commercial af and whack to me.

Puff is clearly a talented (more like treacherous) business mind. He gets his props for that.

Edit: No Way Out had some cuts too. Still didn't rock w/ him

Never was a fan. The only Bad Boy album I ever purchased is Faith. Of course I listened Ready to Die, and later Life After Death courtesy of relatives and Columbia House, but overall their sound wasn't my thing.

NYC had so much dope music. Had their own sound that is still timeless to me:wow:
It's my personal favorite sound in all of music. I love the West, Midwest, & South too, of course, but NYC sound from about 88-2000 just my all time favorite

I blame Diddy's major role in that pop-music infestation of NYC rap.
