I really hate Pittsburgh. I just have many bad memories from being there. I was born and raised there and lived there for the majority of my life. There's just nothing for someone like me there.

If you can get back there in your parents house that might be the best move until you can get some start-up money. You just have to cut your losses sometimes. Things may have also changed there you may even find a job, if anyone has shyt to say fukk them.

I really don't want to live there. It's really depressing. My older sister still lives with them and she's going to be 32 this December. She's been living at home since she dropped out of Pre Med at Columbia University almost 9 years ago.

When I was living there last year before I moved to NY I almost had my parents call the cops on me and we got into numerous arguments. They're Nigerian and West Indian so they can get stuck in their ways and are kind of just difficult people at times.

I don't f*cking care I'll chase my dreams to I die. Better than being too scared to do it and living the rest of my life thinking "what it".

But you can put it on hold at the moment until you're secure, you don't have to drop it completely. The moment you get together you can start making headway to your dreams.

That's cool but what is your dream if I may ask? Seems like you wanted to move to NY to get a new perspective, scenery and culture. Well, now you are there and it seems like the same BS as when you were in pittsburg, right? best of luck, though. Seems most of your frustrations stems from not having a job and enough money to make moves so keep grinding.

I always find it funny, when outta towners or corny bamas go to school in NY for a while, n think that you gotta be some multimillionaire to live comfortable, they have no grasp of the hustle of the city :heh:

As for OP I can give you the game right now. But you gotta answer me this. When you say music and fashion what exactly do you mean? Are you a rapper, producer, engineer? etc.

Keep chasing your dreams. My first bit of advice would be, to find a job in the south bronx n get away from ya hipster roomates. Go to tha hood. There is alot of job opportunites there. Try retail. On Fordham or 125th.

Living in NYC takes initiative. Unlike other cities, shyt ain't handed to you :mjpls:

What a lot of people don't realize is the surrounding NYC areas are ALWAYS hiring
Look for jobs in Long Island, Westchester, CT, Newark/Jersey City. And they hire with $9/hr+ jobs, so its above minimum wage

And get a certificate in something. NYC is filled with 2 month cert. programs that can get you a job that pays $12/hr+

With any of those jobs you can now get income to focus on your dream

And one last thing that's underrated, get a car. Not having to wait for trains and buses or dealing with 2 hr delays is gonna take ALOT of stress out of your life. You don't realize how much jobs people in NYC have no chance of getting cause they don't have a car or even a driver's license
