What yall try?

Man let my aunty make you some pounded yam with oha/ogbono Soup :ohlawd:

Suya is our specialty thought but we don't have much outside of soups and rice dishes

Egusi with Smoked Turkey, and I don't like Nigerian Jollof at all. All of the Nigerian Jollof I had was wet/soupy. I prefer Liberian Jollof because ours is made like how Jumbalya is. I've heard people joke and call Liberian Jollof Chinese fried rice but off em lol

What a surprise. Well of course Sierra Leone finished first and Liberia finished second in a Jollof Rice competition. Those countries are on the Rice Coast.

I am surprised Senegal didn't win it, because the Jollof people are from Senegal and they created the dish.

I am honestly surprised that Nigerians and Ghanians would be claiming ownership of a dish that is obviously from Senegambia. Nigeria and Ghana ain't on the damn Rice Coast and they are just making nasty knock off versions of the good stuff.

Fwiw, the a lot of African American rice dishes of Jambalaya, Gumbo and Hoppin John are offshoots of Jollof rice, which were obviously brought to the USA by people that were brought as slaves from the Rice Coast.

Recipe for jollof rice, the likely ancestor of jambalaya, gumbo and many other American dishes
