Seeing more lukewarm reviews than glowing ones. Is 5 really the peak or has the algorithm skewed things today? :francis:
I think that the development model for this series, the Sid Myers ethos of the 33/33/33 where one aspect of the game is familiar when aspect of the game is an advancement on something from before and one aspect of the game is all new and never achieved ones to the possibility that players perception of the game will initially be a bit disappointing but this is generally just due to the learning curve involved in what they are already familiar with. They purchase this expecting to be familiar with the game but found themselves in a learning curve and thus took away from their initial enjoyments, they will build a bridge and get over this

Damn brehs, I just paraphrased that off the top of my head :gladbron:

Actual quote when I searched it, this is from the official website
"As many of our fans know, Sid Meier has a rule of thirds when designing a sequel: 33 percent brand new features, 33 percent improving previous features, and 33 percent staying roughly the same"

You know what, I get it because I really do love 5, and I even got UnCiv on my tablet due to that love. I wouldn't want to detract too much from that formula. :ehh:

I've been looking at this skeptically since I read they took away the ability to grab other civ's settlers...but the truth is that I really don't want to give timesink-games a foothold back into my days, I have too much to do.

I remember when 5 came out, most people online seemed to HATE it :yeshrug:.
People were furious about the lack of the ability to "stack" units.

Gamers don't know what the fukk they want.

Make a carbon copy replica of the previous game, you didn't innovate. Change a few things around, you meddled too much. Civ is one of the games that needs to tinker and change things up. This is the 7th iteration of it. You can't just put a fresh paint of coat on something and ship it out. We'd just stay with Civ6 then.

Besides, it'll be supported for years, I'm super excited. I'm installing now. 18.01GB.

Be back later with pics.

one unit per tile is shyt, one of the biggest reasons i stuck to Civ 4. Also i do not know if they changed it but happiness was global, so you could have a happy empire, but if you conquer a few cities it would get angry because the new ones messed up the old ones. There was some other things i forget but after 5 i gave up on the series.

Speaking of which, i get a blast from the past vibe from the game. Im getting crazy civ 5 nostalgia from the artwork and mechanics.:whoo:

Maybe they found some old paint in the tool shed and threw it on the game? :pachaha:
