never played civilization but i'd play sim city a lot. i would try to make different styles of cities to challenge myself. also, i always enjoyed the feature where you could connect your towns together, i made a whole little region of cities all with different characteristics. the best city i had i called braggstown. but now, it's just the sims for me...
i think im bout to finally cop that civ V. never played any civ game before. the gameplay looks deep as hell but im not gonna lie. shyt looks pretty confusing too
i used to be addicted to sim city and sim city2000. Only pc games i really played. I cant wait to get a new pc to play this crack

IMO Age Of Empires shyts on Civilization. Even though i did just cop Civilization V with the expansions and that shyt is the new crack rock in my life...
for more choices go with the Total War franchise, that is basically Civilization mixed with a bit of RTS gameplay.
I used to play Rome: Total War all the time plus all it's expansions. You can choose to play those games like civ where u are just moving characters around the map, taking over territory trading fighting dudes etc. or if you want to actually battle when there is a fight scenario you can choose to play it manually and actually fight the battle with mad dudes.
The poster above me is correct, the Total War series is the best when it comes to turn based strategy, with the Starcraft series the best for RTS stuff.
