I believe in a Drake effect but I think this is misleading.

After a release, the single(s) typically have greater exposure, music videos and club support.

If the streaming #s went up each week as the Drake song's share of spins grew, that might be more relevant.

yeah the internet/social media era took out the mystique of many artists. Mixtapes and dropping albums every year doesnt help either. Ideally every 2.5-3 years, you drop a new album.
