My mom just saw this .Said it was good but the 1st one was better. I feel emasculated with her seeing both of these joints before me:picard:

Both parts feel like episodes in a series. Entertaining but unfulfilling.

I enjoyed it but the story was weak imo. The little girl and boy were bad and boring. The action scenes were great tho. Josh brolin was great in this and the scene with del toro and the deaf guy was great too.

Overall good movie but the ending with the boy was weak and surviving in the pit was just like, really?

I don't think some of ya'll truly appreciate how well shot and framed this movie was.

For a cinematography nerd, this movie was a masterpiece.:banderas:

Even better than the first in that regard.

The wideshot were Garver is walking to the chopper and all of his men move out in front of him is so perfect because its the only time we see him not leading (as far as position) his men. And its also a turning point in his character when he decides to not take orders anymore.

Also the only use of shot reverse shot in the ENTIRE movie was saved for when Garver is on the phone with Alejandro informing him of the situation. Which makes it that much more powerful

I could go on and on about all the nuanced scenes... films like this should be studied on how to frame shots. (First one had great moments too).

My only issue with this movie (character side) is that they set up Isabella to be a major character by giving her a very strong opening scene.
However she gets quickly relegated to "chess piece" about 2 mins later and stays that way till the end.

The difference between this and how Emily Blunt's character was handled was that she actually had agency (or at least the guise of agency).
Isabella was just an unknowing pawn.

Still, this movie was amazing.
As a technical fan of cinematography and shot composition, this was 5/5.

As an overall movie fan, this was a 4/5

I saw this shyt and a forgot to post about it. I didn't really like it. I was expecting a war between cartels with the little American squad involved too. I'm wondering if there's going to be a 3rd, because I felt like nothing was resolved.

But wasn't that the point of the entire film? Everyone was a pawn. Even the two guys with all of their training and weapons, they ended up being used. I felt like that was the message of the movie - this thing is so big that no one has control over it, but especially the children.
