Hoping Suits have the same faith. They had to write Mike and Rachel out the show but Mike may return after the first 10 episodes of the season.

Set the wheels in motion when Ned got his head chopped off.. I thought season 1 was one of the weakest till that point

Julian from The Ministry of Time. He was the least interesting character, a trash ass EMT, and the simping of his dead wife was a plot line that seemed to dragged forever.
Can it be any character ?

Luther's wife in Luther. Detective show with Idris Elba as the lead.
GoT of course. Breaking bad was still good after Hector Salamanca died. Son's of Anarchy after Opie died.
Shameless was still good even after Fiona's boyfriend kept leaving. Mandy character got recasted after season 1 and the replacement was better.
Peaky Blinders was still good after killing off one of the brothers, the main detective, and the main guy's wife.
Can't think of many others.

She's pretty good in The affair on showtime
Season 5 was wack
The Vampire diaries peaked around season 3/4 after that it as entertaining crap for a couple more seasons until Elena left. Afterwards the plot got significantly better even with worse villains.
