are police officers forced to live in close quarters with eachother, for weeks on end, in the woods/mountains/desert. Are they forced to piss/shyt, and change with one another routinely?

Why would that be a problem? Humans live with each other under these conditions all the time.

While members of police and fire departments can be said to engage in similarly hazardous duty, they invariably work in shifts, escape from one another for predictable, guaranteed periods of time, and indeed enjoy the comforts of home and family on a regular basis. War does not occur in shifts, nor do field exercises. There is no going home to one's spouse and family every twenty-four hours. War is a crazy mix of long, boring lulls and periods of intense, sleepless activity.

What does that have to do with Men and women serving together besides the sex that might occur. I am not familiar with the military protocols but they can work out whatever problems that will occur through trial and error. They can practice the situations of war and learn how to deal with cohabiting in the environment you described.

That is a problem that would have to worked on. But that is mainly a cultural one. Then the military culture would have to change as well. I guess women will have to be more sluty which i don't think dudes would have a problem with.
