False. Ya'll need to crack open a book asap. Garvey didn't create the flag solely by himself. The Flag came about in 1920 in madison square garden, New York during a convention of the Unia. 20,000 black folks came from all around the world to help create the flag.Some even faced punishment of death by their home country if they attended the convention. I wish nikkas would stop trying to remix shyt all the god damn time.I ask this because Charles Mowbray believes Garvey used red for the red people of the world, and green for the Irish. Neither of which are allies.
If this is true, should the flag be just black?
I'm asking because I wish the RBG to be the flag of our new Union.
These are what the colors symbolize
- red: the blood that unites all people of Black African ancestry, and shed for liberation;
- black: black people whose existence as a nation, though not a nation-state, is affirmed by the existence of the flag
- green: the abundant natural wealth of Africa.
