Should I file a lawsuit against my former job?

I was recently hired to work for this laborer/construction job (I have ADHD and literally can’t work a normal office job anymore). I choose a schedule where I did not have to work Sundays because I attend church service (Yes, I’m a Christian) and I’m involved with the church music group. right before I was about to work my first day they changed my hours which had me working Sundays.

I submitted an accommodation (they wanted proof so I had the preacher from my church to write a letter excusing me from working Sunday) and they later denied it. I went up to the site HR and asked why they wouldn’t accommodate me and the cac would not give me a clear answer and told me that they don’t accept religious accommodations and that there’s nothing they can do to changed that despite Arabs being accommodated to celebrate Ramadan.

I was then threaten with termination because I told them I was not coming in on Sundays. After going back and forth with them I finally got fed up and quit right on the spot.

My family and friends told me I should file an EEOC complaint against them (I documented everything too) but the problem is I don’t think I have a case because I quitted instead of letting them terminate me.

You may have a case. Espcially if its documentated.

Always recap meetings, imporomptu or not, through email. Just so that its in writing

Thats how this corporate shyt works.

They did not denied it because of “work hardships” either cause that job had tons of other workers who could have taken my shift. :francis:
I mean when you sign a contract depending on your state. You’re employer is either right to work or work to right. You or your employer for the most part can end of the contract at any time. That’s why most companies hate unions.

I still got their emails and I took screenshots of my conversation with HR through their app. My church priest was ironically a former lawyer too.

VA is a right to work and at will. Meaning they can terminate as long as it’s not discriminatory or illegal. Problem is you quit on them. I mean you can have documentation but it’s going to be tough to sue.
