No. You dont get that "machine" behind you while indie. For example Mac Miller, I dont hear him on the radio, yea his album sold well but I havent seen any of his songs on the charts. If Miller was on a major right now dude would be damn near Justin Beiber status, would have endorsements out the ass and have major tours. Miller is doing pretty well for an indie but he still not where he could be if he was major. Indie is most beneficial for niche artists such as a Tech N9ne who make decent music but no matter what wont have that broad mass appeal or who is against doing that "poppy" stuff such as Lupe but even for Lupe going major was best for him because he damn sure wouldnt be as big as he is but ow that he got the fanbase he wanted by going major it affords him the ability to go indie and still make some bread.
