where would everyone else go?

even tho they dont make any money,you need liberal arts majors

btw they have schools like this... trade schools.

You can make lots of money and have a great life as a liberal arts major. You just need to hustle and be creative. If you major in accounting or engineering you kind of have to look for a firm after graduation. Because we chose to specialize in something yo u cant just do any job.

As a liberal arts major, you haven't mastered a specific task but you have the skills to apply your knowledge to almost anything. Liberal arts majors just need to learn how to market their skills and be able to demonstrate how they can benefit companies.

Postpone? How about drop. What is someone going to do with mass communications or women's studies? I mean, they can change those majors to a minor.

Actually mass communications is still a viable major, especially if you minor in something else and actually my niece graduated in womens studies and she just got a job training to be a corporate sexual harassment counselor (she is going to make very good money).

bu bu bu bu but

Major in w/e you want. College isn't job placement, but more or less a source of broadening your horizons.

I find it quite interesting that in a lot of Asian countries they don't even have liberal arts majors. But rather strictly STEM. Engineering to be exact.

@zerozero explain this breh. :beli:

Side note: some of inventions engineers are working on perfecting right now are :mindblown: I'll make a thread on it some day soon....

fukk this thread :pacspit: not everyone wants to be or is cut out to be a Dr. And if you turned everyone into an engineer or whatever you're suggesting they wouldn't get paid as much.
Stupid ass thread.

Not everybody is bout that engineering or med school life. :yeshrug:

But I do think colleges should be more up front with college freshman about the employment prospects of different majors.

to answer the question, no. fukk no. hell fukking no.

i'm an econ major, but the amount of knowledge and awareness i gain about the society, country, world and people that surround me through political science, sociology, and other liberal arts courses is extraordinary. it's courses like these that turned me into somebody who enjoys learning and acquiring new knowledge, then finding out how to apply that knowledge to my personal experience, news articles, even movies and music... just in general. i could go on and on, but basically, these departments are just as important to developing the leaders of tomorrow as any of the departments you mentioned.
