What kills me about it is if someone said fukk it and went Joker Hunting, Batman would find out some way and stop it.

Funny you mentioned that.

Joker never gets the death penalty because he always pleads insanity (:why:) but there was this one storyline where he really WAS about to be executed, but for for a crime that he (for once) didn't happen to have committed.

Batman ends up helping him get acquitted. :snoop:

:russ: I can imagine Joker getting thrown in jail...

The Punisher would get thrown in jail just to kill someone like The Joker.

People like The Kingpin or Osborn wouldn't hire or work with someone like The Joker. Too unpredictable. It's a common thread with Upper Tier marvel villains. They're all control freaks.

THe best case scenario I can see for The Joker in MU would be getting hit up by some demonic entity like Mephisto and becoming a Ghost Rider villain.

Outside of that, Marvel's full of too many people with Dexter liike qualities. Serial killers who love hunting serial killers.

Well, I guess you could say batman did kill joker in the dark knight cartoon.
plus, I think if batman got into it with batman over a long sustained fight.
batman would have joker succumb to injuries.
that batman, knew would eventually cause death on the low to the joker.
the bad part about batman is.
dude is to cerebral for his own good.
only reason he is still alive is it is a comic book.
batman hesitates to much, and in real life that will get you killed.
shyt, he hesitates to much in the comic.

batman, was a guilty pleasure inconsistent read.
yet, he was never a monthly title cause all his rules and to much cerebral mumbo jumbo instead of action.
was annoying as fukk, to have as monthly title.

Batman should kill all his villains cuz they always come back again. Arkham Jail is like a hotel, the guests check in and check out at will.......................

But then there'd be nothing to make his story compelling.

Well, it's not the jail that's a hotel, it's Arkham Asylum.

Anytime they get caught, Batman villains always plead insanity and for some reason it always works. :why:

That's pretty much the reason none of them ever get executed.

Batman's principles are built on the foundation of resisting temptation. For all he knows the feeling of killing Joker would be too joyous and too gratifying. So much in fact that he might spend his days tryna get that feeling back again and again.

He can't ever cross that line.

:dwillhuh:

That shyt is true. Look @ the Injustice game where Superman killed the Joker and many other villains. He eventually became one of them and was a psychopath. Killing people will make you numb to it and you will kill again and again, and each time it gets easier.

Doesn't he try to kill Joker for the exact same reason in The Dark Knight Returns?

Joker should havedied a longtime ago, it's not like he's gonna be reformed or stay incarcerated in fukking arkham asylum, dude probably goes there for vacation.

I always felt that way myself. Like Batman is obsessed with being Batman. The Joker is right, hes no better than the rest of them.... except for his "moral code".... Bruce Wayne is the real mask... In his mind, if there were no Batman or if he were to break his "moral code", he'll lose whats left of his sanity.... Gotham is just an overblown mental hospital....

yall read the killing joke? ambiguous ending but one interpretation is that he killed the joker, peep the final page:
killing-joke-ending-570x891.jpg

this is prob my fave batman comic along with arkham asylum, to me in the end batman finally snaps and breaks the joker's neck, there's even the metaphorical line in the rain that goes away in the last panel, which could mean that batman finally crossed that line and killed him. and deservedly so, joker pulled so much fukked up shyt in this book :wow:

I'm not sure how I would feel about that ending though. Remember Gordon tells Batman he wants Joker brought in by the book. If Gordon didn't cross the line after all the shyt he just had to put up with then surely Batman could keep his composure for the time being and do the same thing.

But it's definitely interesting and your interpretation is certainly plausible. Plus it adds a whole new layer to the title of killing joke.

They should make the joker Batmans long lost brother which is why Bats can never bring himself to kill Joker and Joker always tries to hurt people close to batman becuse he was mommies favorite or something. Its the only way you can make sense out of this stupidity.

Joker at the least should be crippled by batman.

...let's discuss one of the greatest philosophical debates in comic books.

On one hand, Batman's one rule is that he doesn't kill people, no matter what. He feels that it's not his job to be judge/jury/executioner, and he feels that if he makes an exception to his rule, he'll just end up killing more criminals and eventually be no better than them. Sliding down the slippery slope, as it were. Plus, if he killed somebody (even the Joker) Gotham PD would probably be on his back even more.

But on the other hand, the Joker is responsible thousands of thousands of people being killed, hurt, and tortured, including people close to him. This guy killed one of the Robins (sort of) and crippled Batgirl. He has no regrets about it and Arkham seems to be unable to keep him in jail permanently. Nor does Gotham seem to be willing to kill him. So it's probably reasonable to say that, as long as the Joker continues to live, he'll continue to kill/maim/torture people for fun.

So, assuming that Gotham is unable/unwilling to keep the Joker locked up or execute him...do you think Batman would be justified if he decided to just get rid of the Joker? Why or why not?
joker could kill so many people if he wanted to. Batman is his obsession, all of batman's villians want something else. but, Joker wants to get at batman more than anything! it's like tryin to get you humorless jackoffs to laugh :laff:but you don't
