Should Angelina Jolie have had a better career?

Can anyone name an actress who is her age who you do think had a great career? Most of them kinda go that way. A mixture of bad movies, action flicks, prestige/award flicks, etc. She also directed some movies. She's like one of those chicks who is Hollywood prestige despite not having nearly the quality of career of someone like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and other people from that era.
She was in a whoooole lof of trash after Girl, Interrupted. Lot of shyt I don't even remember (outside of Lara Croft), then Mr. & Mrs. Smith was big.
That kinda takes me back man. Those Bush/Iraq era years where my mom would turn Entertainment Tonight on while cooking just to get celeb news and learn about upcoming movies. Now all that shyt is online. Sure the internet was around in 2001-2007 but it just felt different. We knew which movies got Oscar noms and my mom would actively try to see at least one or two noteworthy movies. Now the Oscars come out and I couldn't care less, haven't heard of half the movies and don't care.

During her Bone Collector, Girl Interrupted, Original Sin, Life or something like it phase i was all over her (and still to this day i feel all of those are quality movies) but specifically rember thinking Taking lives is gonna be that sauce, boy was i wrong (despite some nudity if my pervert memory serves me well). It was pretty much downhill from there though. And she was part of two of the biggest clusterfukks ever in Alexander and The Tourist

She's done better than most in her lane, and she still has a chance to have a strong back-nine now that her kids are grown and she's back in the game.
