Clean your liver.

:ohhh: No wonder my heavy dandruff problem went away miraculously in 2016 when I cut back on drinking and smoking and got a volcano. sometimes I get lil dandruff in January thought it was the winter weather but its the Holiday drinking :ohhh:

Clean your liver.
Use high potency Milk Thistle.

This will completely get rid of your dandruff problem. And balance your scalp.
Don't drink or eat bad foods while taking this.

I eat and drink clean as is - i got acid reflux so I don't really have a choice. Natural foods and nothing but water

It's a fungus on your skin tho :dwillhuh:

If it's out of hand there's medication that brings it down.
Not fully disagreeing just saying if he was looking for relief in the short term he'd have to take a different route. :whoa:

I stopped all shampoos and conditioners and just washed my hair with water in the shower. I would then apply Jamaican castor oil after drying. Cleared up my dandruff issues.

depends on the cause of the dandruff. if you have the fungus problem, then normal dandruff shampoos that kill fungus are what you need. if you have an autoimmune issue like psoriasis or eczema, then you need something that slows down the turn over of cells. dermasolve will do that but you have to keep using it forever

I've always had a little dandruff until a few months ago I woke up and was like :gucci: "why the fukk am I not treating my hair/scalp better?"

Looked up shyt. Took away tips:

- Don't wash hair often
- Shampoo like once a week
- Use conditioner and moisturizer.

So I bought all natural products made for black people like
71dMscMLMzL._SL1500_.jpg
(Shea Moisture Curly Hair Product Bundle Shampoo 16 Fl Oz, Conditioner 13 Fl Oz, Leave in Conditioner 15 Oz, Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Healthy Hair Growth, Strengthen & Restore, Sulfate Free)

But I still have mad dandruff weeks later. In fact, I think it's even worse :francis:

What I do:

- Use 1x leave-in conditioner every day either in the morning or at night (Used it less before but started to use it more when I saw dandruff wasn't going away, doesn't seem to have helped)
- Use coconut oil as a moisturizer in hair every morning or at night
- Wash with conditioner every 2-3 days
- Wash with shampoo once a week

Other than that I don't touch/brush/rinse my hair at all. Not sure what i'm doing wrong exactly.
wash yo hair every 2 days and use tea tree oil and try to get the tea tree head and shoulders

This?

I actually used this before swapping to the whole routine all at once. I should all of them at once?

:lupe:

Keep using Nizoral. It actually kills the fungus that causes dandruff. I had the same problem as you and while it works it is drying. After using it you have what looks like dandruff but it's flakes from a dry scalp.

Use the Nizoral in the shower but gently massage it into the scalp for about a minute or two and rinse. After that I use this to keep my scalp from drying:

I usually leave it in until I'm done showering and rinse it out. Next time I wash my hair it's just with the Cantu. It's not going to produce more oil and is very gentl. I only use the Nizoral once a week. If your problem is really bad try Nizoral twice a week until it's under control and immediately cut back to once.

Your scalp is producing too much oil causing buildup which in turn causes dandruff. And they are telling you to make it more oily. think about it.
Would literally make the problem worse. trust me i know. The goal is the get your scalp as dry as possible. once you you get rid of dandruff you can start moisturizing again. between weekly shampoo's

You're giving the wrong advice:what:

Yes oil can lead to dandruff but drying the scalp isn't the answer. A dry scalp gives the signal to the body to produce more sebum which makes the scalp more oily. You need to kill the dandruff causing fungus while keeping the scalp from getting dry.

No conditioners ever helped me with dandruff, shyts always made it worse. dryer the scalp the happier i've always been,
Some of ya'll are speaking from a perspective of people that only ever dealt with very light dandruff. I'm talking about people with severe chronic issues.
I would recommend against using any product that doesn't explicitly say it is anti dandruff. Shampoo, moisturizer, conditioner or otherwise. not gonna help with dandruff unless it is designed too specifically

AVG. Apple cider vinegar and olive oil. I've never had bad dandruff since I started doing that

My hair is like 9+ inches long now but I use Dr. bronners’s as shampoo then I comb through with sulfur 8 conditioner.

I use tea tree or vitamin E oil every other day and my hair stays moisturized and wavy. It’s a pretty low maintenance process and I don’t have dandruff, at all, unless I go a couple of weeks not moisturizing. It even helps when my hair is braided.

I sometimes get the “what are yewww?” And in my head I say “black and moisturized b*tch”. But in reality I just say “black”, move on with my life, and let my girl scowl at them.

I had chronic issues because my scalp gets oily normally but it's way worse when it's dry.

Dandruff is a yeast that feeds off excess oil. A dry scalp means more oil production which is feeding the yeast thus creating more dandruff. I was making my dandruff worse using shampoos because most of them aren't killing the yeast and the chemicals are too drying.

Nizoral is proven to kill the yeast so once that's done the cowash is just to keep the scalp from drying. If the Nizoral isn't drying then it can be skipped but I find it drying which leaves to flakiness. Using both has worked wonders for me.

If OP has an oily scalp than drying it or applying oil will make things worse.
