I have a legit question that always gets avoided? I swear I am not trolling or trying to divide:

Would you Sunnis have a problem if the Shia gained control of Mecca and Medina? Let's hypothesize that it was through peaceful means somehow. This wouldn't concern you?

I woud have to do research on that. But going on Piligrimage (Hajj) to Mecca is a mandatory part of Islam that every Muslim must do if they can (that's important).

I understand. That's not my question. Would you have issue with a different sect controlling your holy lands? It wouldn't bother you?

I can only judge by what I know from my Christian upbringing, specifically involving Catholicism and Other Sects.

Shia Islam handles one huge matter more logically in my opinion:
Mohammed being different from Jesus, that is to say, a man and only a man, is stressed greatly in Islam, but Sunni muslims hang on everything he said and did to the smallest details possible. Moreso than Christians with Christ, who is considered God himself.
In Shia islam this doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there a reason for this?

Sunni muslims have the hadith, which is the records of Mohammed's life as told by his companions. Next to the Quran, they base a lot of guidelines and rules for life on the study of hadith. Shia's don't have that second element.

I'm sure there is a chain of events that led to this, but on the spot i couldn't tell you exactly why.

I can't really say if it would bother me or not until i have the proper knowledge on the subject. We should only say that which is good. Why be risky with it?

good question...This is something the Wahhabi/Saudi Kingdom fears the most, they don't want the Shia to attempt to gain control of Mecca and make arrangements to revive the Caliphate.

This is why the Saudi's are so willing to seek foreign intervention against fellow Muslim Nations

I am definitely open to it. :obama:, however I do have some concerns..

Since we have various Prophets (peace be upon them) gravesites in the Middle East, I'd be concerned with the conflicts that may arise if some were to worship those prophets as some Shia do.

I am very displeased with some of the things that go on in Mecca/Arabia :aicmon:

For sure. The Saudis are much more concerned with Iran than Israel is. It just isn't publicized.

When the Wikileaks drop happened a few years ago and it was known that the King Abdullah had personally asked for US intervention with Iran, I knew there had to be some religious and political implications to it.

Hadith From Muhammad PBUH

Hijaz (Saudi Arabia) will be ruled by a man whose name is the name of an animal, when you see him from a distance, you would think he has a lazy eye, and if you get close to him, you do not see anything (wrong) in his eyes. He will be succeeded by a brother of his, named Abdullah. Woe to our followers from him! Woe to our followers from him! Woe to our followers from him! - he repeated it three times - Give me the good news of his death, and I shall give you the good news of the appearance of the hujjah

Prophethood (meaning himself) will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain, then Allah will raise it up wherever he wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood remaining with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, He will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Afterwards, there will be a reign of violently oppressive [The reign of Muslim kings who are partially unjust] rule and it will remain with you for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, there will be a reign of tyrannical rule and it will remain for as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then, Allah will raise it up whenever He wills to raise it up. Then, there will be a Caliphate that follows the guidance of Prophethood."
