this is the part where i didnt disagree with gabrielle union on, we have to make a blatant attempt to teach out kids to love themselves and love those like themselves. this is a huge part of what pan africanism and black nationalism is. your children are bombarded from the womb with white culture and white beauty.
on top of that, the more wealthy of blacks are sending our kids to predominately white schools where its a huge class system. if your a black kid but you have star potential, then you will get the pretty white girls coming after you in hopes to ride you all they way to the nba or nfl etc. if you are not and your like sherri sheppard son, he likely gets pushed down to the low life circles, where he has no shots with the very attractive white girls and spends a ton of his time with the "ill be your friend since no one else will be your friend" crowd. this is where you get these really thin ugly, or plus sized white girls hanging out with your black son, and he gravitates toward that just for the sake of affection. i live in a pretty mixed neighborhood and i see it too often. these black kids are running around with the white girls the more attractive white guys just dont want. and the ugly white girl is more than willing to perform all the sexual things very easily.
i made it a point to keep my kids around other black children. 2 of my boys talk to black girls , my youngest son is still too young to be trying to date etc. but because of my pan african, black nationalist ideology, i was aware of this need and fulfilled it. your not in a society where you can expect black kids to naturally want each other, not when all signs of beauty is white to them in tv, music, movies etc. its a real side of this society you just cant ignore.
