what ive been able to ascertain via forum/internet gossip is that possibly there was some sort of perv ring involving cops/this judge that would be lenient towards women on parole/probation if they provided sexual favors in lieu of going back to prison
i think this sheriff may have gotten some idea in his head like the cac who stormed comet pizza in DC... hence the non-guilty plea. he thinks hes a hero
would not be surprised if there were some kinda of QAnon style conspiracy behind this stuff

Looking at bodycam videos, sheriff appears to be in an altered/psychotic state. When police are interrogating him, he has trouble responding to basic questions.
One of the accusers said the judge slept w/ hundreds of local women who wanted cases thrown out, but she isn't the most reliable source. She did say it was consensual but also that turning him down wasn't an option because she'd lose her kids or end up in jail.
Still not sure to what degree the sheriff had a clean nose yet. Not sure if he knew nothing, or if he didn't expect it to come on his doorstep a la R. Kelly/George Daniels... The abuse sounded pretty widespread for him not to know as a high ranking employee, and it was coming to light publicly as one of the sheriff's employees was facing related charges in a different case.
All of it was putting the sheriff under a lot of mental stress, so it is possible he is innocent and just 'broke' as a result of it all. I read an article that he was still acting 'off' a few days after being arrested.

Tya Adams alleged Mullins coerced her into sex parties for leniency, claiming he used his authority to intimidate her with threats of jail or Child Protective Services action. Sarah Davis, a former deputy, described hearing “nasty and sickening” rumors of a “brothel-like” courthouse environment but saw no misconduct herself.
A 2022 lawsuit against Deputy Ben Fields, who pleaded guilty to raping inmates, alleged sexual acts occurred in Mullins’ chambers, with Stines named for failing to supervise Fields. The lawsuit, still pending, does not directly implicate Mullins in wrongdoing.

Fathers are fathers because they protect their daughters' honor and dignity. Daughters always need their fathers' protection and affection. If I were in this situation, I would do the same. The sheriff is right; he is innocent.

Especially if this sex ring was being conducted in a courtroom with cameras
That means just about everyone entering the courtroom would have to be in on it as well as the security guards monitoring the cameras
The security guards, the lawyers, the other judges, the janitor, the cops
There would have to be like thousands of people in on it and none of them said a word until now?
