Strong sentiment. What makes you say that?
cuz it cant be worse gameplay wise..
ppl bytching about the gameplay and the way Ryo moves like shenmue 1&2 were some technical marvels...the movement in shenmue 1&2 were stiff as fukk anyway it was the story esp in pt 1 that kept ppl engaged....this looks better than both games already there's no way it wont be better gameplay wise....idk what ppl are complaining about...this is one of those cases were nostalgia blinds ppl...to the point where a game that ppl been waiting for so long to come out and when it finally does no matter how good it is wont be better than the previous entries....

I can't speak for others bruh, buy it was more so the immersion/realism - the dymic weather cycle, the independent AI, the realistic mission timing, the realistic fighting- that drew me in more than anything else. All that sht was unprecedented. It stood out as a technical master piece of innovation at the time, no doubt about it.

However, in Shenmue 3 from what I've seen there is no ground breaking technical immersion or innovation involved, unless I'm missing something here. It looks to be much the same as the old one, with better graphics and animation involved. That's it and that's not good. It looks to be an HD remake of a dreamcast classic, as oppose a break through game like it once was.

Thats the point though. It doesnt have tp reinvent the wheel because Shenmue was the one who created the wheel in the first place.

People gotta remember that this game was made on a kickstarter budget so instead of beefing up the graphics, they went with packing in as much content as possible.

Personally I wish Shenmue 3 was in DC graphics for an even more authentic Shenmue experience. Either way, Yu Suzuki confirmed that Shenmue 3 is going to be a bigger world than Shenmue 1 and 2 combined which is phenomenal. As long as the music is dope, the gameplay is coherent and not buggy if they keep Shenmue 3 the same while making small improvements then no doubt about it..

Shenmue 3 is gonna be :banderas: for the OG fans from day 1

Playing through Shenmue Pt 1. There’s a damn lot of walking around. I really hope it gets better. I know it’s not a straight up beat em up but damn, I hope it gets more exciting. I just met Master Chen.

Shenmue is a slow burn type of game. Keep playing it. It gets interesting around disc 2. Once you get past the sailors part it starts to pick up. The real action don't start till Shenmue II though. Shenmue is one of those type of games that it'll sneak up and grow on you without realizing it, or you'll hate it. There's no in between, just a matter of what your taste is in gaming.

But yeah, Shenmue is a game that rewards patience, keep going breh. :salute:

I’ve had more time to dedicate to this game, I’m enjoying it a lot more. I have to appreciate this was one of the first sandbox open world games made so some of the features may seem archaic. However, the storyline is very immersive.

I’m on my last day working as the forklift driver. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Finished Shenmue 1. I can see how it was more of a demo for Shenmue 2, which I’m currently playing. The sequel is much much better and more engaging. I’m dealing with REN right now.

I liked Shenmue 1 on Dreamcast, you see where a lot of modern games got the blueprint from even grand theft auto which was a completely different type of game before 3

but I got the both remasters on PC and goddamn the first one is damn near unplayable to me, I might skip to part 2 but I wanted to refresh my self on the story

Shenmue 1 is good if you want the background to the story.

Shenmue 2 is better in every way. They vastly improved on all the weaknesses from the first installment.
