With the fact that this shyt is exclusive console wise on the PS4, once it's done, they just need to upload it to PSN to download since it's digital only. No overhead at all for Sony to distribute digitally. And you know Sony is also helping financially as well so it's easy money

Shenmue was always ass anyway. I will cop if it looks dope, but I aint donating shyt.

Sony E3 was still dope though.

All about risks. Sony is willing to publish and distribute digitally (which costs them nothing really), but not wanting to fund the development (at least completely fund anyway; I'm sure they've given him SOME loot).

Was shenmue really even a trilogy? I could have sworn I had read years ago that the game was intended to be 5 parts. It was supposed to branch out and reveal that lan di was part of a much larger team and Ryo ends up having to take down the whole organization which would require more than just part 3.

the game has 16 chapters originally, i believe .
shenmue 1 was chapter 1 and shenmue 2 was chapter 2 to 4 or 5,i think.
you might be right about it needing more than 1 game to tell the story.
yu suzuki put so much detail into 1 or 2 chapters, imagine the shyt he has not told yet and trying to fit all of that into ONE GAME!!!
but i really do not want to get shenmue 3 with a cliffhanger ending and then wait another 14 years for shenmue 4.
i'll only be cool with an unresolved ending in shenmue 3 when they guarantee that a shenmue 4 will be made!!!

I been waiting for shenmue 3 since dreamcast days in middle school. But I'm not liking this kickstarter thing. Knowing this sh1tty industry called video games , I'm afraid this may start a bad trend

I haven't seen this stated anywhere officially. I know right now there seems to be evidence pointing in that direction but I think its premature to say that this will be a PS4 exclusive for consoles.

It's right there on the Kickstarter page. Only PS4 and PC. It's console exclusive.

Seeing the obvious interest in the game, I would imagine Shenmue games beyond part 3 is being discussed. Of course, this would all hinge on the commercial success of part 3. This generation of gamer might not be interested in this game so much, especially state side. The yakuza series is a very similar series and it doesn't really get much attention. Personally, I'm excited for Shenmue 3 and have waited a long time for this, but I'm not sure if it fits in todays generation.

It's right there on the Kickstarter page. Only PS4 and PC. It's console exclusive.

What it says all over the Kickstarter is that it will be available for PC and PS4. I don't see anything on the page specific about any console exclusivity. Also, the fact that it will be on PC actually helps the case that it may see a release on the XB1.
I'm just saying its too early to make a concrete statement that the game will be an exclusive.

Definitely. Theyre in the stretch goals as movies, but they should definitely add ports of the originals. I would imagine there wouldn't be time to do full remasters, but at least digital copies of the first 2 would be incredible.
