At 34, Shelly has a top notch cycle.

Let's be honest and I like shelly (Top 5 Jamaican women I want to smash) you ain't breaking records in your 30s unless you "using".

She hasn't pissed hot in 11 years, she doing something right.

At one point at least Jamaica basically never conducted out-of-competition testing. Meaning that it was almost impossible to get caught so long as you cycled right with the international events. And all sorts of Jamaican sprinters were getting caught anyway.

Not saying she's using, but the lack of diligence by the national agency has definitely made it possible.

AP Analysis: Bolt can't outrun Jamaica's doping problem

When FloJo ran, it was the Wild West. FloJo retired, allegedly, because there was to be more stronger testing.
Not just stronger testing, but random testing as well. It's just crazy to see records from the 80's remain unreachable despite all the advancement in training and nutrition (along with drugs)

Drugs in the 80's must've been next level shyt

It was the testing more than anything. Even doped up, FloJo times are out of this world. Especially for a sprinter who was fairly above average otherwise outside of the 400m. Marion Jones was doped up and never came close to Florence
