When Jesse Ventura helped him win the WWE title was a fun moment. Always loved his stiff working style, had a dope theme and by all accounts is well liked and respected. Sad he couldn’t go out on his own terms but he’d make a great trainer or personal trainer in the gym.

I don't think that's how it happened. :skip:

But I get your point. I remember finding out when it happened and just being in shock. Guy went from beating down Goldust on ECW to being the WWE Champion and facing Cena, Orton, and Triple H in big matches less than six months later.

His style is one I woulda like to see go against guys like Regal/Finlay/Steiner/Lesnar in their prime

I mostly liked Sheamus during The Bar, when he was in the doghouse years ago and had to scrap his way back up, and during his KOTR phase. Besides that, he was in the group of Del Rio and Jack Swagger to me --- guys that were more than solid wrestlers, but often terribly boring and didn't want to see him on my TV. I'll never get over how he was wrestling Goldust for weeks in WWECW, then they had him win a "Breakthrough Battle Royal", and won the title against Cena in the most pathetic way possible, with Cena basically jumping through the table to aid in Sheamus winning that. It took AGES for Sheamus to get heat during that period. Being HHH's homie had it's benefits though. HHH went to the ends of the earth to try to get him over. Sheamus assaulted him backstage at a PPV, then later beat HHH senseless with a steel pipe, then hit him with like 9 Brogue Kicks to win, and he STILL wasn't over like they wanted him to be (sounds familiar huh?). I hated his feud with Ziggler and Christian too. They made for good matches, but I can't stand feuds where the face is basically a jerk and a bully, and the heel is actually the sympathetic one. It makes no sense. But overall, Sheamus is a more than solid worker that out-kicked his coverage, cause had HHH not taken a liken to him, there's a chance he would've been a better wrestling Irish Snitsky.
