They are rich and live in a rich white neighborhood, so it makes sense for her new neighbor to be rich and white.

This story was written by a jamaican american black (maybe mixed) woman. You all should be proud that a black person (woman) had her award winning novel turned into a movie, that the leads are black, and that the story does not paint black pple in a stereotypical or cliche way.
