They're traditional, but it's a big thing over here that they're more controlling in regard to the household and the family's finances. Like, Japanese women often [if they're married to a Japanese man] will give the husband something similar to an allowance, and the rest of the money is the household's, i.e., hers. I've seen or heard stories of the same thing be ATTEMPTED with Americans.
