AB fought the mandatory and #1 contender who was Marcos Maidana and lost the belt.

Marcos Maidana then chose to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr instead of fighting Adrien Broner in the rematch or fighting the NEW #1 contender and mandatory which was Keith Thurman (which is how Thurman became an interim WBA champion)

Floyd has chosen to fight Maidana again instead of his mandatory....which is Keith Thurman.

In a perfect world, we would be seeing Floyd vs Keith Thurman, but no organization is gonna force Floyd to fight his mandatory again
