I’m back in this thread after giving my review of starfield a year ago… it’s still the first Bethesda game where I haven’t played more than once… combat is decent/meh I actually like it for most part… the story was cool until the final 10hours.. shyt was meh:yeshrug::yeshrug:
Not a bad game but nothing special…. This game feels like how I felt about cyberpunk.. but I prefer the cyberpunk world than this bullshyt

expansion only 3 hours long?
Definitely not true. I've been exploring the new planets in the expansion for well over 15 hours now and I still have A LOT of shyt left to do. I'm really starting to question if people are even actually playing this. It took more than an hour just to beat the first mission.

To me its clear that people are just making shyt up at this point and purposely omitting certain things about this DLC lol. Shattered Space is almost the perfect version of Starfield and if the whole game was like this Starfield would be the goat Bethesda game. If you hate on this you were never going to or wanted to like Starfield in the first place :yeshrug:

Nah, people speed-run and do little exploration. If you play it that way, it's hella quick. If you actually jump into the world, it can last for awhile.

Game leaves a lot to be desired but it's a solid "7." Barely a "7" but still. A lot of the online commentary turned folks off because dudes with 30 hrs playtime were giving detailed, negative reviews. Problem is that because they hadn't put in much time, you could tell they didn't fully grasp in-game mechanics. Most barely understood ship building and how the options change as you level up. They loved Mantis and Antixeno armor even though those get outclassed pretty quickly. Even down to suggestions on skills...the speed run folks would hype increased carry capacity and shyt like that instead of all the ship/ship building perks that are much more useful but require more time/investment.

They gotta pick it up big time for ES6, though. Starfield is decent for an initial offering, but expectations are much higher for Elder Scrolls.

Valid, but at the same time, saying that 30 hours somehow isn't a long enough on ramp for a game, and someone didn't play long enough is crazy.

It's usually folks that played the main story, a few side quests and NG+ in 30-ish hrs.

Long enough to get an impression of the game but not long enough to have such strong opinions...especially if the person hasn't even unlocked important game mechanics.

Good example - a lot of experts would be like "A class ships are the best." If your piloting skill hasn't been upgraded, you might actually believe that. Once you upgrade and get access to C-class ships and the best reactors, particle beam weapons etc., it becomes clear that A-class ships are trash unless the player loves constantly boosting/throttling instead of just melting enemies. Most of the reviews and analysis was based on early game impressions and limited skill investment.

Still think the game has a LOT of flaws but it was never as bad as it's been made out to be.
