I had to think about this too. Because surely the Ancient Egyptians would have had a shark god somewhere. But they didn't. They were certainly seafaring. Not sure if they knew they existed.

I think this also shows how sharks operate with humans flailing in water.

Which is why the guy that jumped into the water from off the cruise ship in the Bahamas couldn't have been taken by a shark. The likelihood that a shark just came up from out of the depths and pulled him down without the flailing of the shark hitting the surface while attacking him makes it not plausible. Plus there was no blood or remnants of body parts if he was getting bitten into like in the OP's video.

In most species that applies, reports say this was a tiger shark though. Those are infamous for being indiscriminate about what they eat, dead ones be having anything from other sharks to license plates getting found in their stomachs
