This is a common issue with tall athletes. Being taller makes you high risk for a lot of medical conditions like heart issues and blood clots. Add to that the toll and stress of being an elite athlete takes on the body. Hopefully he can get back to it after he recovers.

Dude I played AAU with his dad was a doctor, they were just messing around with the machine and he saw he had a hole in his heart. If they wouldn’t have found that he would’ve died, crazy stuff

Yeah he’s cool. I mean he was normal before, but one day he could’ve just dropped dead, he wasn’t showing any problems. You have to have surgery to close it up, the ins and outs I don’t know, I never asked him

He probably had no symtomps and this was a routine check-up for all the ucla basketball players

He did have symptoms, he said he felt funny/different from how he felt in high school and told the trainer - hence them having him wear a heart monitor

But it doesn't have to get undiagnosed if people just go to the doctor. Everyone should be getting routine checkups. Ball player or not

Yep should get one every year. They found a heart issue last year when I went in and have had 5 procedures to try and correct try and correct it. Head guy at Mayo Clinic took my case on and they think they got it under control. Would have never known without getting a physical

Routine checkups aren't CT scans and MRIs on the heart breh.

The average Dr is just checking your blood pressure and if necessary blood work and maybe a ekg

Ekg shows heart issues. You can tell a lot just off an ekg
