MAN!!, I thought I'd never hear Part I. I've only got the second volume. Good looking, breh!!

Do you know, 'Mobbin' Wit Tha Dogg Pound' has literally been rumoured to be leaked for the past 20 years.

I've been waiting to hear this for ages.

Apparently it was a scrapped song for Above The Rim soundtrack.

But, I feel like this jawnt was a demo for something else coz I swear I've heard the hook and Kurupt's verses on separate songs even the beat sounds familiar.

I love the Bob Marley sample on this track too.

the released version was “Just Doggin” from the Sunset Park soundtrack. there was also remix of it on ”Tha Dogg Pound 2002” album

I really hated everything about K-Solo back in the dayz. I just can't get into his music as he's always felt like a "try hard", much like Troy Ave in this era.

9. Dave

Right here we got Lil Bow Wow spitting snoops lyrics from "nikka Named Dave" over a production by Dr. Dre. The production side is dope of course but the whole song is more of a funny novelty. Wouldve been great if there was a version with snoop spitting over this dope beat.

10. With Me Tonight

Next up is a song from death row soul singer jewell. Great, smooth production and jewells singing is A1 as usual. Great song to lay back and cruise to. Also features a dope rap part from storm.

11. Callin Us

Kurupt & Ram Squad just spit some raw shyt over a simple, ominous but really dope instrumental. Especially Kurupt shows why hes one of the dopest west coast lyricists ever. Ram Squad also do their thang with some raw rhyming.

12. How Ever Do U Want It Freestyle

LT Hutton hooks up an amazing beat for Lil Malik to freestyle over here, but unfortunately its kinda wasted because the mixing is kinda off and somehow malik is also more mumbling fast and sounds off beat at times.

13. Where The Party At

OFTB spittin over a dope af Daz Dillinger beat you'll definetely know. Banger. Thats all I got to say.

14. Get Busy

Lady Of Rage spitting over another Daz Dillinger beat here. Not really my type of beat, Rage is dope tho for the short time she actually raps here. Some people may like the beat tho.

15. So Many Ways

Another smooth r&b song, this time by Michelle. Smooth song to relax to.

16. Mobbin Wit Tha Dogg Pound

Another version of the song, both sound dope but its up to you which one you prefer imo. Got some different elements, so just compare and listen for yourself.

17. Slip N Slide

The last song belongs to death row singer danny boy & freddy ranks. Daz hooked up a smooth bumpin beat here and the singing is also cool. Very relaxing and smooth.


Overall this compilation definetely got some heat from the death row roster, the production is amazing for the most part and the rappers & songers show what made death row so great back in the days. Just check it out if you havent already
