Paid $900cad for a mint 8800, full ram, mv8 op1, DIF-AT24 interface, original box/manual/cd, mouse and monitor. and he through in a work desk for free.

I had to ask this guy if he knew what he was doing. He said yeah he knew. :manny:
Man, you hit a lick :picard:
I was thinking about getting another MV8800 but I thought about the hell trying to find an OP1. It stops me everytime but if I can find a fully loaded MV8800 for about 700-900, it's an instant cop.

I think the 5000 is a better buy then the 4000. It's fully expanded except for the ram which is easily found (for now)

Got a desktop module I'm trying to get rid of
What's your opinion on it? With all the VSTs today, I don't know if I ever will take the plunge.

I dig it. Built pretty sturdy although the software is a bit buggy. I only recently upgraded to the latest fireware and it seems a lot more stable.
With 3 oscillators you can pull some good, big sounds out of it. When it come to synths I'm just not a fan of any kind of menu diving
so I got my hands on a minibrute which pretty much replaced my Blofeld.

For me, the reason for getting a 4k because it was basically a Z8 with pads, and was the only time that Akai didn't limit to sampler on the MPC compared to its standalone sampler "counterpart." Something else that I am debating on getting is an E-Mu Command Station. I always thought those joints were fly and if they would made it more of an E4 instead of a Proteus 2k. :ohlawd:An E4XT with pads and all those controls with that tight sequencer. :wow:Might just get one and pair it with my S3200XL for fun.

Yeah the menu diving is one of many turn offs for me with hardware synth. Plus some of the sounds I've heard doesn't fit where i'm going.

True, the 4000 is a powerhouse. They put a rack sampler in an MPC with an hour sample time. Plus the sample menu page is quicker than the 5000. It's a joy editing in that thing.

Not a fan of the Command Station though. :hubie:

Just copped a piece of gear I wanted since I was in high school, but don't even need it now. Saw an ASR-X Turbo (8 out, SCSI, max ram, EXP-3) for $150 on eBay. Next think I know, I'm putting in my paypal info and bought it. :snoop:Don't even know how I'm going to use it or where I'm going to put it.
