Before anyone comments let's keep this in perspective

We have to remember Shaq comes from a family of police officers and wanted to be one. His step father was in the military. If he wasn't a basketball player he'd be a cop. Whether we agree or not he's coming from a totally different angle.

Shaq becomes reserve police officer in Florida

Law enforcement
O'Neal maintained a high level of interest in the workings of police departments and became personally involved in law enforcement. O'Neal went through the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Reserve Academy and became a reserve officer with the Los Angeles Port Police. He appeared in a commercial for ESPN in Miami Police garb climbing a tree to rescue LSU's costumed mascot Mike the Tiger.[citation needed]

On March 2, 2005, O'Neal was given an honorary U.S. Deputy Marshal title and named the spokesman for the Safe Surfin' Foundation; he served an honorary role on the task force of the same name, which tracks down sexual predators who target children on the Internet.[168]

Upon his trade to Miami, O'Neal began training to become a Miami Beach reserve officer. On December 8, 2005, he was sworn in, but elected for a private ceremony to avoid distracting attention from the other officers. He assumed a $1 per year salary in this capacity.[169]Shortly thereafter, in Miami, O'Neal witnessed a hate crime (assaulting a man while calling out homophobic slurs) and called Miami-Dade police, describing the suspect and helping police, over his cell phone, track the offender.[169] O'Neal's actions resulted in the arrest of two suspects on charges of aggravated battery, assault, and a hate crime.[170]

In September 2006, O'Neal took part in a raid on a home in rural Bedford County, Virginia. O'Neal had been made an "honorary deputy" by the local sheriff's department. O'Neal is not qualified as a SWAT officer.[171][page needed]

Shaq would have been Sherrif Clarke if he wasn't in the NBA :wow:

as a police officer who happens to be a black man, he should have a stronger position on the subject then this. he needs some courage before he speaks on such subjects

Why the fukk cant black men have different opinions without being criticized and name called..

Colin wants to sit during the National Anthem and he's right for his stance..

Shaq wants to stand up based on his family members history.. And he's right too..

Why does there have to be a divide among the black community?:what:

Shaq on Colin Kaepernick's National Anthem Protest: 'I Would Never Do That'

Shaquille O’Neal will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this week.

The four-time NBA champion, 15-time All-Star, Olympic gold medalist and supremely outsized personality joined the "Fox and Friends" co-hosts this morning to sound off on his enshrinement and some other sports stories making waves, including Colin Kaepernick's National Anthem protest.

"To each his own," Shaq said, adding, "It's something I wouldn't do."

He explained that his father was a military man and he has uncles who are in law enforcement, so sitting during the National Anthem is something he would "never" do.

Shaq said that his question for Kaepernick is: "What happened last year?"

"How come you didn't decide to do this last year or the year before that or the year before that?"

Watch Shaq weigh in on the Kaepernick controversy above, and see more from his "Fox and Friends" visit below.

FIRST off, GOATbe >>>> this 7 foot bozo in life

And lastly, go on Fox News and tell their audience EXACTLY what they want to hear and don't consider the impact your voice has brehs. This nikka is useless off the court.

Kobe is a great player but he is more of a c00n and fakir than Shaq.

Sound Reasoning
Shaq has always had the "white daddy" thing going in one form or another. Whether it was his college coach or Phil Jackson :yeshrug:

Sport, especially those centering on the participation of black athletes, has many parallels to the plantation system. On plantations you had white planters (team owners) and overseers (coaches and GMs) whose job it was to control the physical and mental acumen of the slaves (athletes). They wanted workers (athletes) who maxed out their physical capabilities and let them (planters and overseers) determine the mental capabilities and agendas of the slaves (players).

Being big, fast and strong was a crowning achievement for the slave. The same way it is for the athlete. Planters and overseers took pride in how physically imposing their slaves were because it spoke their ability to "season" slaves well and make them profitable. No different than owners and coaches/GMs take pride in being able to train athletes for the benefit of their organization.

NFL and NBA combines look like slave auction blocks with white men inspecting their next crop of bucks :francis:

A slave being a thinker with an agenda that benefited the slave class was seen as undesirable and dangerous by the planter and overseer. This was met with reprisal and punishment. A slave's entire existence was to be of service to the plantation system. No different than any NBA or NFL player who steps outside the realm of "being a team player and putting the organization first." This is met with repirsal and punishment i.e. Colin Kaepernick, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, etc.

The parallels go on and on. Hell, listen to Donald Sterling....dude sounded like a modern day plantation owner :mjlol:

So, it's not surprising when NBA and NFL players sound crazy. They've been seasoned from middle school to be big, strong, fast while at the same time being dumb, overly sexual and childish.

Peace

TYRONE GA!
:patrice: So every Nikka must fall in line with Kap or be called a c00n?

that simple binary logic is ridiculous.....Shaq has every right to disagree without being stripped of his blackness ....

problem is that nowadays it's real easy to go back and pull up other :patrice: comments made by these cats since the internet has receipts. c00n? Maybe not. But ignorant as fukk? Definitely. He's said lots of questionable shyt and now it's looking REAL funny in the light.

Considering the fact that to disagree with kap implies the song itself is more important than what it represents (freedom & liberty)

Then yea you're most likely an Uncle Tom ass c00n sorry
