So you were sexually assaulted ... yet you didn't go to the cops
That would depend on what state this happened in. I know NY is a one party consent state. A conversation between two people can legally be recorded without informing the other person. If this happened in Cali both parties need to consent. They met in LA but I don't know if the recordings were done there.
The case was filed in Nevada which has one party consent. The People article said she's now a resident there so maybe she gathered all these recordings after moving. She probably had this play in motion and getting out of Cali was just a means to trap him legally.
