Former LA Laker Shannon Brown was arrested for assault, the 34-year-old reportedly fired shots at a couple he said entered his home in Tyrone, Georgia, the property is up for sale. Fayette County jail records show he was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
“A Tyrone man was charged May 2 with aggravated assault after allegedly firing a rifle in the direction of two people who said they entered his home that was listed for sale, with the gate and front door open,” according to The Citizen.
The couple stated the property had a ‘for sale’ sign outside. They also to told the authorities the front door was open as well as the gate to the property. The couple announced their presence as they entered the home, and someone said ‘come in’, according to police spokesman Philip Nelson.
As soon as they were about to check out the premises, Brown appeared, holding a rifle and forced them to leave, and fired “five or six rounds in their direction.”
Brown’s defense is that he assumed someone was breaking into is home. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
