So Tim story is directing this. He did the first two barbershop flicks and the fantastic four movies and I think the Italian job remake. Oh and of course the ride along flicks. Kenya Barris and a couple other cats wrote the script

Unless the tone is going to be different I really don't understand the casting. When I think of shaft I don't think trey songz looking brothas. I want to see marshalala Ali, an American version of idris except with charisma or a yaya Abdul matee. This sounds like a joke
Doubt it'll be a joke seeing as how Kenya Barris wrote it and they're bringing Sam back. Let the boy act thats what his job is, acting. Pretty sure if all anyone knew of Tom Hardy was Star Trek Nemesis they'd never think he could pull off Bronson or Mad Max either but here we are

Tom hardy was already in black hawk down before star trek nemesis so I don't know why his turn as Bronson would be so amazing. And what did he do so spectacular in mad max again? Other than sully the part and get murdered by theron?
Which one of those roles has the social significance to whites that shaft has to blacks or are you forgetting the themes of sexuality, masculinity, black power and race attached to it? For that you need a lead with life experience, screen presence and charisma not some fresh faced noob that looks like trey songz. Miss me with that it's acting nonsense. Go watch Valerian and see what happens when you get a boy to play a man's role

Roundtree more so, a lot of dudes still alive from that time are sadly shucking and jiving for trump ain't heard nothing from him so I can still go on believing my fantasy he was a real one. Sam is kind of overexposed at this point. Ppl will say he's been since the 90s but I disagree. There was enough variation between Jules, Carl Lee Hailey, zeus carver, Harry Adams, calvin Hart and Charles morritz to see range, only haters would say otherwise. Now he's just everywhere and it doesn't even have to be quality or good any more...Dope that Sam and Richard are coming back
