Exactly. Chris himself is married to a darker skinned chick. Does that mean he hates himself?
When white men date black women, we never assume that they hate themselves. When light skinned dudes show a preference for darker skinned women, we never say "you don't love yourself."
When people assume that a darker man hates himself because he marries a light skinned woman (or even a white woman), we are basically saying that blackness is somehow inferior and should be some mark of shame that you can't escape. It's an inferiority complex shining through.

Why? Because again it's internalized self hate. We subconsciously think its OK for her to date dark because we view it as her doing some kind of good deed...like she's sacrificing. When the dark skinned brotha dates light, we somehow feel like he's upping his station by taking a shortcut. Trying to be "pro-black" but still a slave to colorism and ranking light skinned as better.
And his little bit about Muhammad Ali: Joe Frazier was born in South Carolina and had to leave because he got into it with some disrespectful cacs. They were probably gonna murk him and his family. That brotha was always pro black but we all followed the light skinned breh Muhammad Ali as he made Joe sound like a c00n.
Light skinned blacks usually had better access to education and so it would not have been a surprise to see them leading the way as community leaders early on.

I'm trying to figure out if you're a white dude pretending to be black or you're just a delusional dark skin nikka trying to make your ugly ass feel better.
The biggest black male sex symbols of our generation are almost all light skin (Chris Brown, Trey Songz, T.I.). Literally all the guys girls in my age group were fiending for growing up were light skin.
There's a reason you never hear light skin dudes complaining when it comes to interest from the opposite sex. We got the best of both worlds. We get all the dark skin self-hating women who just wanna be with us cause we light skin and we also get all the exotic/white women who see all black men as the same. Literally the only group that prefers dark skin dudes over light skin is self-hating light skin women who are insecure about their skin color. That's it.
I'd say white women ("real" white Northern Euro and Scandinavian types) seem to prefer dark black men. Blondes and gingers in particular.
Latinas and southern Euros probably prefer lighter black men.

Nope in dating it damn sure don’t exist. Preference isn’t colorism no matter how much people bytch about it. Folks nowadays just soft and want to have no accountability about anything.
