I don't think it's a simple answer. But here's my theory having worked in youth prison. I think for some it's lack of options. I've known a dude who was serial rapist. Been there for 3 years. Shown no signs of homosexual behavior. However, one day, which he called a "moment of weakness" snuck in the bathroom with this feminine acting homosexual to get some "DOMA". Now, did he have these desires on along? I don't know. But what I've seen is dudes go crazy over this feminine homosexual, because he acts like a woman. It's the closest thing that they have to a woman and feminine traits. On the outs, they clearly have the option to get a real woman.
