‘Sex and the City’ Revival Confirmed at HBO Max

“Sex and the City” is getting the revival treatment at HBO Max, Variety has confirmed.

The new chapter is titled “And Just Like That…” and will star Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, is not returning. Parker, Nixon and Davis will also executive produce, along with Michael Patrick King.

The revival will follow Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Charlotte York (Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Nixon) as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s. The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes and is set to begin production in New York City in late spring

All I got from it were self-centered white women with over the top personalities "living the life" in NYC.

I just don't understand the need for this revival though. Especially after having not just one, but two theatrical movies dropped. Like what further avenues could you possibly explore that hasn't been touched on before and won't seem ridiculously unrealistic for women their age.

Samantha (Kim cattral) went out with a brother once, but his family full of sisters got in the way. He broken it off with her. (That how they play it, it's always us that don't want them.) And she called him a child that needed to grow up. She was the whore of the show.

Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) hooked up with Blair underwood on the last season. He was pressed and desperate for the white point, she went back to her previous relationship withe the guy that ended up in the movie. She's the one that came out as a dyke irl and ran for governor.

cuz you’re not the target demo. This show was a holy grail for a certain type of woman aged 16-40 when it aired.

and just as the movies didn’t focus on the random casual sex/dating fukkery that the show focused on (in the early years), I’m sure this won’t. There’s a lot to explore about relationships no matter your age. Since there’s no Samantha, the other three are all married, two have kids, I’m sure they’re dealing with menopause and other female changes, the ways relationships change as you age, female friendship later in life, etc there’s a lot that they can explore about women in their 50’s that will resonate with their OG fans who are now 35-60

it’s a clear cash/fame grab by them and HBO, but it does work given there are stories to tell
