But what is the maintenance on an Infiniti vs a Chevy?

Do you need to use premium gas, and pay for more expensive parts?
This is a common myth. Most of the Infiniti parts will be interchangeable with base model Nissan parts

Infiniti=Nissan
Lexus=Toyota
Acura= Honda

example, I had a 2003 Acura TL. The Acura dealership wanted $1100 for timing belt/water pump replacement.

I go down the street to the Honda dealership they said they’d do it for $650 using the exact same parts

I feel like banks, auto makers, etc, everyone tied to the industry really are targeting people to get into the auto purchasing game permanently vs owning your own quickly and not owing anything to anyone.

They want you to always have a car payment, how it’s managed by the consumer is dependent on what his or her personal goals are.

That’s why they’ll do things like auto loans for more than 7 years and it’ll (the cars) be marketed to look affordable while really being costly.

Yep the game is to target folks for these bull shyt leases. Or get them to buy cars constantly and trade them in before the loan is done. The goal is to get these folks to stay on a payment plan like these bull shyt cell phone bills now.

Plus owning these cars are a status symbol so americans are willing to buy this disposable over priced stuff.

It’s still not smart though. Especially for people that don’t know about cars. Those second tier luxury brand parts are STILL going to be more expensive than their counterpart so why put yourself through that. It’s also not smart to bring your luxury vehicle to any side of the road mechanic because they don’t know how, or have the proper equipment to work on these higher end cars.

Infiniti parts are notoriously expensive especially for the older models. You can just get a Altima and have a better piece of mind as it ages and keep some money in your wallet.

This.

I bought a membership to IAA here in Charlotte a month ago off a recommendation from a friend who does security here and got this G Wagon AMG for 46k recently, no frame damage.. Already working on having the front end fixed and ready in a few weeks.

And you can flip that after you fix it... Same thing these dealers do

Brand brand brand

I’d drive a 15 year old Honda before I drive a 3 year old Chevy or any other domestic

My boy got a 2016 Chevy Cruze and has already had over $6000 in repairs :pachaha:

He drives around the city all day doing pickups, and ignored my suggestion to get a Toyota or Honda :sas1:

Sometimes it's not worth it though and a new car gives peace of mind.

That Chevy isn't 18,000 btw. More like $13k new , $9000 used

yeah some peace of mind when you get off work for the weekend and have no money in your savings and no extra money to do anything on the weekend :russ: Peace of mind alright
