A big issue with this run is that it came a year late. He was on fire, motivated, had more juice than anyone in the company, and the crowd was 100% behind everything he did heading into WM last year. Instead of putting him in the main event scene again then, they had him do bottom of the card IC matches before pairing him up with Ziggler for months and killing all of his momentum and heat, which happens to literally everyone that has been paired up with Ziggler for at least 3 years now. So doing that, then going into the Shield reunion/bad Ambrose feud, then rocketing him back to the main event really without any reason other than it was his turn. Certainly this garbage with Becky and Corbin post WM would have killed him anyway even without all the issues beforehand.

Absolute classic WWE mishandling of a character. Vintage, even.

midcarder now :mjlol:

y'all love doing this shyt

His ceiling has always midcard. At best. Others were simply late to realize that. He benefits greatly from the current era, which is at a near all time low. In no other era does he remotely sniff the main event, nor should he. Black hole of charisma with no personality or character.

fukk a Ziggler and thanks for proving my point.

Work rate means dikk when you're at the top of the card. Nobody gave a damn about Rock because they were anticipating a 25 minute barn burner when the bell sounded :krs: You really watched WCW's main event scene in anticipation of Goldberg & Hogan tearing the house down? :dead:

So the hell what he can work a (spot filled) match? What else does he bring? You have to have more than to sustain a run at the top. He doesn't, which is why he can't. He was the least charismatic out of the Shield and has no personality. He's the Kingslayer. He "burns it down. " Evidently, now, he's the "Beast Slayer. " And yet, you -- nor he -- can tell me who he really is. Work rate being his strength is fine. What isn't fine is that there's no TV Title or European Championship for him to properly play to that strength.

It's funny reading this after this tragic thread
Jon Moxley’s participation in the G1 Climax will not necessarily be the end of his run in NJPW. Moxley spoke with Nikkan Sports for a new interview and during it, he confirmed that he is able to compete in NJPW despite his AEW contract beyond just the G1 29, which finishes up this weekend.

Asked if there’s any plans for him to compete in NJPW after the G1, Moxley said, “Fortunately, there’s no problem in fighting in New Japan while belonging to [AEW]. Going forward, I can always show up in Japan and compete.”

He added as to why he went to New Japan, “I was a big fan of Japanese professional wrestling. I wanted serious professional wrestling, not entertainment that involved crappy characters. I knew that was my home and that Japanese wrestling was such a serious place. During my time in WWE, I went where I was told by WWE and fought who I was told. Now, I’m free to do anything. I can compete, learn enjoy life all over the world.”

Seth giving that speech had me :russ: and hoping Brock came back out to give him some more. They’re going the wrong route trying to make Seth a sympathetic figure in this.

There have always been tonal issues with Seth as a character. Looks-wise he's generic and could go either way but he sounds like a weasel but he does unnecessary babyface moves but his finisher the curb stomp is pure heel shyt. I know none of these are issues on the indies because character and proper alignment come second to work rate but it does matter or should in WWE.
