i can tell alot of people are not familar with the history of hbo,but they have always been family programming
when hbo first started they had fraggle rock and over the years they had babar,Paddington bear, encyclopedia brown, babysitters club, puff the maguc dragon, fairy tales for every child ,tin tin

they have a 24hr hbo family channel as well tbats part of the hbo package

so adding this will help in subscriptuons and its a recognizable franchise

for the people up in arms, its still free on pbs you just wont get episodes first

I think it's just because this is Sesame Street - the pinnacle of all children's educational programming. This and free TV go together. Are they really gonna have a time-slot dedicated to Sesame Street year-round? And it needs to be on HBO, not HBOFamily. Fraggle Rock wasn't really educational on that level; I always saw it as a sitcom, as with Babysitters Club, E. Brown, Babar...Paddington I can't even fit that into a genre and Tin Tin came on at night and was more action-oriented (people got shot).

My thing with PBS is that if they're really THAT strapped for cash that they let go of their bread/butter/feast/cabbage soup/gruel, hy not dig in the vaults and send their older shows to DVD/BR? They have Reading Rainbow, Nova (LOL), Square 1, Masterpiece Theater, 3-2-1 Contact, the rest of Ghostwriter... Hell, they could've rented out Sesame Street and given a more Muppet-esque show to HBO.

According to early press releases, it's supposed to revolutionize children's programming and many scenes will "break the internet"...

It sounds like it's gonna follow the drama between a false child King Elmo and an honorable aging Lord Big Bird.

According to unidentified sources close to the set, the season will culminate in a scene where King Elmo, who's proven himself to be a sadistic freak, finds out Lord Big Bird has been investigating the legitimacy of his reign and has been seen whispering around in dark corners with the Oscar the grouch.

Elmo asks the advice of his council (Bert and Ernie) and they suggest sentencing Big Bird to treason and a lifetime of cleaning the Snuffaluffagu cage. Elmo appears to agree and calls everyone into the street to pass the sentence, but at the last minute, he calls on the Count to cut Big Bird's head off and sew it on Oscar's body. The budget was 8.5 million dollars on CGI for this one scene alone.

"The Streets is Coming", "Hear Me Count", "Ours are the Colors".

shyt's gonna be fire :ohlawd:

I'm surprised there isnt much outcry around this. I guess that's just a sign of how far we've progressed media wise?

The whole reason Sesame Street was on PBS was so that underprivileged kids could have a well-developed educational program available to them and hopefully aid in their development by teaching them things that privileged kids either already knew or were being taught in their private/fancy schools.
