Serious question....Would Idris Elba be a good fit to play James Bond?

I think they should re-consider.

Let's be honest, even a spinoff of an invented character would carry more weight with the OG franchise and name behind it than trying to create a Bond-like film for him without their "blessing" or making him Alex Cross or some shyt.



Sounds shytty but it's true.

England has a good history of spy type shyt, and with the whole history of the Commonwealth and all the countries they used to "trade" with (), there's a ton of stuff you could do with a black agent.

shyt, I'm Nigerian... Elba playing a 2nd generation Nigerian now in MI5 or MI6 or whatever would be fukking interesting to me. Watching him rep for all the Black Brits outchea.

I think they're worried about diluting the franchise, which I get. It's one of the main reasons they pulled back on Jinx. They like telling stories of this one guy and don't want to become one of these marvel universe copycat thing that every studio is doing now to different degrees of success

Yeah, you're probably right, but if I was in the room, I wouldn't suggest building a Marvel type universe where they co-exist, but putting OG Bond on hiatus in a way.

Whenever they reboot/change Bonds, there's always a gap. 3, 5, maybe more years... Why not tell another contained story in that time?

At the end of Spectre or some shyt, Bond is on some "I'm too old for this shyt" but more serious than that.

Get John Brehyega in, tell a story about a 2nd generation African born and living in England, trying to either make his way into the agency, or make a name for himself after just being recruited. They send him deep cover in Nigeria or Ghana or some shyt (because lets be honest, what else would they do). Him being 2nd generation makes for an inherent culture clash, going back to his roots while working for the country that left his homeland in ruin, but wanting to prove himself as an agent, not wanting to betray his peoples...

1-3 movies later, have Craig pass the real/official 007 title to Tom Hardy or Henry Cavill or whoever they want.

You try some shyt if there's a need to lol. Like you don't throw everything against the wall unless you're in dire straights. They've got something that works right now no need to blow it up unless spectre turns out to be die another day status

Scottish accent is still better than that EastEnders accent he has. I loves Idris but he'd have to STFU in my presence. His accent makes my skin crawl.
