1. LEBRON IS NOT A SHOOTER this season is shooting better than he ever has. I made this thread 3 years ago. Lebron was way worse back then. I watched teams back up off Lebron and let him shoot in the playoffs. I’ve watched Lebron pass up open jumpshots and defer to better shooters.
Penny never did this. He could shot flat out from any spot on the court
2. Lebron has no advanced post game skill. Just power. no finesse or complex moves. He’s better now. I made this thread 3 years ago when he was way worse.
Penny post game was developed and unstoppable from day one. Watch some video. This isn’t debatable by anyone with common sense.
3. Penny was compared to magic like Ben Simmons or Lebron. He was just as good or better than Lebron at passing. Just look at video. He was really most known for his passing. This isn’t debatable
4. Penny put pretty much every center in the 90s on a poster. And he was a POINT GUARD. And he had finesse layups around the rim.
Lebron is a freight train and more powerful and intimidating so nobody really gets in his way but the bottom line is nobody was stopping Penny if he tried to finish at the rim
Penny was more versatile as a finisher. Lebron is more powerful. Is bigger. Stronger And jumped higher.
5. Handles? Don’t make me Laugh
Lebron protects the ball well. Plays under control and within his limits but he ain’t breaking ankles or bringing up the ball up court against a full court press. He wasn’t getting defended by point guards
————My main point within Lebron?——
PHYSICAL GIFTS DOES NOT EQUAL SKILL
BEING SKILLED DOESNT NECESSARILY EQUAL SUCCESS IN THE NBA
The Biggest difference between penny and Lebron isn’t even any of the skill listed above though but MENTALIY and IQ.
That’s why penny really didn’t average the numbers you’d expect someone given his skills. ALSO HE NEVER REACHED HIS PRIME. He could’ve developed into a much more talented smarter and agressive player had he not got injured
Keep in mind I was comparing an early 20s Penny a few years out of college to a player most the basketball world Is currently calling the GOAT
And there’s still a argument to be made.
That’s a win/win in my book.
Oh and Lebron STILL ain’t even better than Jordan or Kobe
