i respected kessler...still do he put in work at 168..thats why i was surprised at how badly he got beat by ward...i was expecting ward to win by a close stinky decision and put money on it and ward came close to TKO'ing him

I initially had Kessler the favorite to beat Ward. They both had tuneups on the same day prior to the Super 6. Ward completely dominated his tuneup. He had a pretty dominant performance against Miranda before that fight, that got my attention as well.

Kessler did not look that good against his tuneup. He got the KO, but I could not overlook how bad he looked. I know you could chalk it up to an off night, but he looked like he was slipping badly. I couldn't believe no one pointed this out at the time.

I immediately changed my pick to Ward after that night. I didn't know Ward was gonna dominate him like that, but I honestly wasn't surprised. Kessler looked that bad to me in his tuneup. I only saw that fight once, so I could be exaggerating, but he obviously wasn't the same fighter going into the super 6. That showed during and after the tournament. One could say "well it was the level of his comp in the super 6," but he looked awful against a bum.

The kov right really sealed it for me. Kov was the boogie man, everyone was avoiding him. Ward got dropped that first fight and showed heart to comeback and win (I personally scored it for kov).

But the rematch showed why ward is so great. He utterly smashed kov and stunned him and finished him with that body work. Dudes one of the most intelligent boxers and makes the necessary adjustments. Dudes a pure stud, and his legacy can't be diminished. And this is coming from someone that isn't really a fan of his style

His spot is certified as one of the best in this era. but unfortunately due to the inactivity and absence he might easily be forgotten by most fans when ATG convos happen 10 years from now.

An all-time great but I would've loved to have seen Ward face the talent 10 years before his era.

I was at that fight bruh :wow: nobody sAw that coming. We supported Ward on some Oakland shyt but man he showed up and beat his ass. Ward is undefeated against Cacs and tends to stop them
:mjpls:
Yeah, but there's a pretty obvious reason why I don't think it's anything personal with Ward and CAC fighters though. :mjpls:

I think he should have targeted Stevenson before walking away. He would have been undisputed & linear. The option to beat the guy, that beat the guy, that beat the guy is still there for him.
Fight would be hard to make since Jay Z and Al Haymon have bad blood.
