Serious question... how is Back in business not viewed as EPMD’s best album?

this thread is made in revision and culturally because of what occurred. Epmd was done, when this dropped.

:mindblown:

The Booth done lost it's goddamn mind.

I could make a case for it being a top 5 album in '97.

It would be a tough sell, but I'd DEFINITELY put it in my top 10 of that year. That album was pure smoke, fukk am I missing here?

Don't know if I'd call it their best ever, but it's not nearly as outlandish a claim as y'all seem to be making.

I know I’m asking to be negged because of how this album is viewed in EPMD’s catalog, but this seems like their best album to me. I fukk with the production and their rhyme styles more on this tape than their 80s/ early 90s albums. The way this album is viewed is how iww is viewed by purists imo. Is this album really as bad as the masses say it is or do older hip hop heads scrutinize this album unfairly?
I thought Back in Business was dope. But every EPMD album before that was better.

I’m surprised everyone doesn’t think Strictly Business is their best album :ohhh:
To me that’s one a GOAT contender album :wow:
So many timeless seminal classics on one album. :wow:

It's a really good album, but you're comparing it to classics and near classics. I would say it's their 3rd or 4th best. The highs on there are:whew:

Eh....

The only way someone would think this is their best album is if they preferred mid 90's hip-hop to late 80's/early 90's hip-hop.

"Crossover" and "Headbanger" alone >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> this whole album and it's not even close.
