Bring up that spelman is named after the Rockefellers and that the first presidents of most hbcus were white. Alcott is named after a white man and if I’m not mistaken Morehouse is too. That was also during the gilded age with no federal income tax nor strict monopoly laws so that’s why a lot of philanthropy came to the schools. Tuskegee (a private university) is named after Carnegie. Many public schools for black people during Jim Crow were assisted by Julius Rosenwald, a Jew from sears -roebuck money.
Notice after the federal income tax law and Teddy Roosevelts monopoly busting, we see a decline in hbcus being founded and more technical and county schools being made.
There are legit gripes. But they are also a Candle in The Dark, shout out to Benjamin Mays.

Which is why I'll be shocked if he loses in November.
