Eliminating the EC would cause a different problem: NY, Chicago, and California would decide every election due to population, and it opens up the potential for more corruption. That's not really good.
The best and worst thing about the EC is that it cuts both ways. The EC was a major factor in Obama winning his second term in 2012; so much so that Trump complained about it:
And their main concern is values and making sure their values are imposed . I don't get how people in states with horrible poverty and poor education main concerns are guns , abortion and gay marriage . Especially when gay marriage and abortion isn't what's keeping them poor and uneducated. This nicca Rand Paul had the nerve to argue about the unemployment rate saying it not that high since a lot of people are actually just people who stopped looking fir jobs purposely. I don't get why these people support people who don't care less about their wellbeing and only goal is to shrink government and programs that would assist them

I sometimes struggle to comprehend how hate can mislead a demographic so much so that they actively sabotage their own well being. Just... wow.It really is that simple breh. But America has a large population that thinks that investments in healthcare and education is welfare for minorities. So you have alot of people voting against their own best interests.
Unfortunately, the college educated portion of the population who understands what needs to happen, all live in the same cities and votes dont matter as much.

how was the electoral college a major factor for obama? if it came down to just popular vote he had romney beat there too (51-47%). of the past 3 presidents, 2 have been republicans and both times they won because of the electoral college, so it doesn't cut both ways.
