Id say his examples like Hugh Grant and Mohammed Ali are “real gentlemen”.
As for typical proper man or gentleman things like integrity, respect, honesty, compassion etc are also hard to define. Like Israelis might think that their war bosses signify those things. While the rest of the world might think that they completely lack all those things.
So it’s really in the eye of the beholder.
