Biggest problem in this thread is that people are commenting under the assumption that Chad is guilty...

People keep bringing up the real world and corporate America, but in reality decisions wouldn't be made because of an allegation alone (unless it was related to the company/organization itself). Usually no one is fired until something is proven as fact (or very likely), or it diminishes the reputation of the company to the point they have to fire them to preserve their brand.

People love flexing their knowledge of the real world when the only thing they know is some biased idea of the world they learned from their ignorant parents or Fox/CNN talking points. Just use logic... Why make a decision before you know the facts. It doesn't make sense in any regard... Unless they wanted to get rid of him anyway.

If that's the case :yeshrug:

An arrest is enough to get fired in the corporate world ("Hey boss, I won't be in today cuz I GOT ARRESTED...but I'm innocent!")

Also, what Chad got into...whether he did it or not is linked to the Dolphins brand. The fact that he can't catch a football made the decision rather easy.

Miami coach is one of those "yeah we were 3 and 13 but we had some good ole boys out there" type coaches. Dudes like him need to be coaching high school teams and stay out the NFL.

In what world dude?

Unless getting arrested messes up your ability to work, or is a violation of the company's code of conduct... 9 times out of 10 you don't get fired on the spot.. Are you people that clueless?

If I get arrested for DUI tonight and go back to work tomorrow morning, I'm probably not getting fired.

Like someone said, it's not because of this incident. Chad probably just sucked in training camp and this incident gave them a reason to cut his ass. He's washed up and done.

Chad is not some franchise player. He's at the bottom of the totem pole in The NFL right now. It's easier to cut dudes who are non factors in football than any other sport.

and you may not be
BUT, if you worked for UPS as a driver or some other type shyt like that then you may actually lose your job

you see this is what I'm talking about. just because YOU don't experience this doesn't mean its not out there in the real world.

Chad knew the rules of the company and he broke them.

plus the fact that his worth on the field wasn't matching up to his worth off the field anymore

I actually feel bad for dude, and I was supporting him and hoping he made the team. I actually feel he's a good dude. I follow him on twitter and he does a lot of good things for people everywhere.

But I can't bail him out on this one. He made his bed.....

Clearly you're not getting my point... His relative talent level doesn't matter. If they had any plans to keep him, I would think they would at least wait until they had all of the facts.

On the other hand... If they wanted to get rid of him anyway, then :manny: congrats to the dolphins for getting a break.

Says who? They are well within their right to fire you. And if you're of no use to them, they will fire you. You don't seem to understand that Chad was no use to the Dolphins and on top of that he was involved in a situation that brought negative attention to the organization. LOL @ "We'll stand by you through thick and thin eventhough you're a poor performer and have brought negative attention to the organization". Seriously, what world do you live in? People get fired for far less.

All this outrage is fukking pointless. Everyone is missing the most obvious point: as far as football is concerned, he's finished. Period.

Everyone wants to blame the "CAC" Coach, but let's be serious: Ocho was only signed for Hard Knocks. If this happened to Calvin Johnson, or Larry Fitzgerald, or Andre Johnson, do you think they're let loose? He was brought in to maximize the ratings for Hard Knocks. That's it.

Chad Johnson got cut cause he can't play football anymore. The firestorm he caused only hastened the act.

:hmm:

White lies

Did you miss the point where I said "unless it affects your ability to do your job, or is against the company's code of conduct"

Of course a UPS driver would get fired for getting a DUI... And I'm sure that's against ups's code of conduct as well...

Then y'all make statements like "he made his bed..."

He only made his bed if he actually did it... And if he did then I have no sympathy for him, and it is his fault. I'm not saying they should give him any second chances. I'm saying... Find out for sure if he did anything in the first place...

Imagine a world where you're punished on the basis of only an accusation... Well then what's the point of the justice system?

My GOD!!!!

I clearly said... if their intent was to get rid of him anyway... then it doesn't really matter. Screw him. He sucks... Whatever

You people only read what you want to...

Edit: And I didn't say they didn't have the "right" to fire me... I said they "probably" won't. Especially if they had no intent to fire me before. It's like y'all can only see black and white... There is a gray area people

why?

this is preseason. They don't have time to be worrying about this shyt right now.
they have to trim rosters down by over 30 players. before the season even starts. you think they got time to babysit and worry about a player that hasn't shown to be above and beyond what they already have??

He made his bed by being a distraction to the team, and underperforming on the field.

He should have been at home trying to learn the daamn playbook and not worrying about his next sound bite or ho ass trick to mess with (allegedly)

again, they have NO OBLIGATION to wait out to see if he is guilty or not. NONE

and ESPECIALLY during preseason, where coaches down have time to be running around after one player.

MAYBE, during the season after he had a roster spot already sewn up then he might have gotten another chance.

i dont know if chad actually head butted ol girl. but i gotta blame chad for 90% of all this. He shouldnt have eben been fuccin with ratched azz Evelyn Lozada in the 1st place. thats L #1, he was actin up on twitter talkin shhyt (even tho he was joking) L#2, his press conference, he was droppin F bombs and talkin about bein a porn star L#3. The coach told him he didnt like that shhyt. Chad was on thin ice already. Then finally the arrest, the coach was like :aicmon: and Chad wasnt even the big time reciever that he used to be. So even tho the coach may be an azzhole, he cut him. Chad may or not be guilty, who knows. But if Chad was in his prime he wouldnt have been cut

Did I say they had an obligation?... No

Did i say they should babysit?... No, these are grown men

Once again... If he is innocent then technically he didn't do anything to distract the team. His ratchet wife did

And for the last time... None of it matters if they were planning on getting rid of him anyway.

My entire point is based on the idea that they were planning on keeping him on the roster... Which means they saw value... which makes me wonder why they were so quick to react when all they have to do is wait...

Once again... All of my opinion is based on the idea that prior to this incident, they were planning on keeping him.

I'm done now... Y'all are so judgmental and so much more "in touch with the real world" that sometimes you ignore logic
